Work at Propllr

Propllr strives for diversity, equity, and inclusion, viewing each as essential to fostering the creativity and empathy required to do our jobs at a high level. We aim to be a welcoming workplace for thoughtful professionals of all backgrounds.

To go beyond words, we’re continually working to build out and improve a range of policies, practices, and benefits, laid out below.

Our Promise to You, the Future Propllrhead

We promise to invest our time and resources to create a positive and rewarding environment that drives professional development.

Our Shared Values

A workplace is most productive and rewarding when everyone commits to a clearly defined set of values. At Propllr, we commit to the following:

Clarity

We think, speak, and write with clarity; we have command of client programs; and we are critical thinkers.

Accountability

We do what we promise, we care about our team and clients, we don’t hide, we solve problems, and we are proactive.

Expertise

We know our role and our clients inside and out.

Learning

We are curious, we take it on ourselves to master difficult subjects, we internalize learning, and we take feedback positively and without offense.

Belonging / Inclusiveness

We are team players and team contributors, we treat everyone with respect, and we avoid cliques.

We Commit to Diversity

Diversity and Anti-Bias Training and Education

Propllr provides diversity and anti-bias training for all new hires, hosts DE&I-oriented education and awareness sessions, and invests in external DE&I training opportunities for the team.

DE&I Working Group

Propllr’s DE&I Working Group helps the company set standards, build practices, and monitor progress. Participation in the Working Group is voluntary, and any employee is eligible to participate. New members can join at any time.

DE&I Table Talks

Every month, the DE&I Working Group organizes a Table Talk about DE&I topics, ranging from introductions to cultural traditions to discussions of more systemic problems involving oppression.

We Pay Well and Provide Amazing Benefits

Pay Equity

With an eye on society’s historical problem of pay inequity, Propllr has clear salary bands set for each role within the company. These are public to all employees so everyone knows how much they can expect to earn in a given role.

Clear-Cut Quantitative and Qualitative Criteria for Promotion and Advancement

Too many companies have opaque policies for promotion – or, worse yet, no policies. This can cause stress among people who wonder if they are being considered for advancement fairly, and it allows promotions to skew to certain groups. Propllr aims to eliminate subconscious biases by explicitly listing out the quantitative and qualitative criteria that are considered for promotion.

In addition, every employee has regular bi-weekly, quarterly, and annual reviews with their manager to keep open lines of communication about their performance relative to expected targets. Our goal is no surprises at annual reviews.

Team Rewards for Company Performance

Propllr does well when everyone on the team does well, and we share in our success through annual cash performance bonuses based on individual and company performance.

401(k) Profit Sharing + 3%

To help close the generational wealth gap of BIPOC, female, and other marginalized employees, Propllr adds an additional 3% of salary into all 401(k) accounts – regardless of how much the employees themselves are able to commit – along with an annual profit-sharing bonus as company performance permits.

$1,000 Emergency Funds

To help employees maintain and grow their nest eggs, Propllr will cover up to $1,000 per year for emergency expenses for employees with titles below the Director level.

100% Health Premiums Covered

Rising healthcare costs can deepen existing health disparities, particularly among LGBTQ+ and / or BIPOC employees. Propllr pays 100% of employee premiums for top providers of health, dental, and vision insurance.

Paid Parental Leave

Propllr offers up to 12 weeks of paid leave for birthing parents, and up to one month paid leave for other parents.

Mental Health

Events impact some of us more than others, and this can introduce stressful and debilitating mental health challenges. Propllr’s mental health offerings give people the support they need when and how they need it, and through our flexible PTO policy, employees know they have the time they need to step aside from work.

Coworking Allowance

We’re a fully distributed team, but we recognize that many people enjoy getting out and about from time to time. We provide a monthly budget for Propllr team members to periodically work out of coworking facilities wherever they live.

We Invest in Your Professional Development

$1,500 / Year Training Stipend

Career development is a critical piece of DE&I progress, and Propllr supports employees who want to gain new skills by covering the costs of seminars, webinars, workshops, books, and more.

Paid Membership in Affinity Organizations

It’s easy for people to feel alone in the workplace, no matter how diverse or inclusive. To help our people connect with others who have similar life experiences, Propllr covers the cost of membership for affinity groups (e.g., Latinas in Tech).

We Invest in Your Community

Annual Donation Match

Propllr is its people, so we want to support the organizations they support. Propllr Gives Back is a program that matches employee donations up to $250 a year. Whether five $50 donations, one $250 donation, or something in between, Propllr donates alongside its people to support great organizations at home and abroad.
